Pond Management

High-quality pond water is simple to achieve and maintain using Clearflow products.

Clearflow Water Lynx polymer blocks are semi-solid, environmentally safe, non-toxic polymer blends, each type formulated to work within specific water environments. These products produce vastly improved water quality when used in conjunction with conventional water movement equipment such as aerators, fountains or decorative falls.

DIFFERENT TREATMENT SYSTEMS

The following illustrations are representative of methods possible in deploying polymer blocks for pond water quality improvement applications. All methods involve selection of the appropriate polymer block type and placement within a moving water body. Better effectiveness results when the entire water body can mix-allowing the polymer blends to work everywhere.

Perhaps easiest of all, polymer blocks introduced in a waterfall or rapids system dissolve and mix well with the down-slope or down gradient movement. For best results, place them near the top of the grade, allowing excellent mixing with the water. Varying flow rates and quantities of suspended abrasive material [e.g., sand] will create variability in the dissolution rate.

All polymer blocks should be secured to prevent movement down the waterfall or rapids.

With a floating fountain system, the polymer blocks are placed in a cage or basket immediately beneath the fountain. As the water moves past the blocks, the components dissolve while the water movement through the fountain and back to its intake provides the continued mixing needed for efficient water treatment.

An aerator or bubble system creates water movement past the polymer block, enabling the polymer blend to dissolve. The continued movement of air aids in the dispersion of the polymer components throughout the water body. As illustrated, the polymer blocks are simply tied to a float keeping them in-line with the upward bubble movement and off the pond bottom. The float also makes system monitoring a simple task. Additional ties to the aerator help keep the polymer blocks positioned properly.
